Augmented Reality Symptoms
VERG Researchers: Jacob Stuart
Motivation
Moulage is the industry-standard method used to depict visual cues. The fixed nature of moulage means this industry standard practice cannot accurately display visual cues that occur on a spectrum, such as symptoms that develop continuously in real-time (e.g., hives, flushing, and pale skin).
Description
This project uses augmented reality to depict symptoms that occur on a spectrum. This allows us to
- Portray symptoms that cannot be displayed using makeup or moulage (e.g. stroke symptoms)
- Show symptoms that develop over time
- Reduce the time & cost of applying symptoms
- Easily apply symptoms to manikins or standardized patients
